Dr. Barke earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Southern California and his Medical Degree from the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at the University of California, Irvine where he also serves as an Associate Clinical Professor. Dr. Barke is a past chair of the Department of Family Medicine, a past member of the Medical Executive Committee, and the current appointed chair of the Physicians Wellness committee at Hoag Memorial Hospital in Newport Beach. He also serves as an expert medical reviewer for the Medical Board of California. Dr. Barke has many passions including his family, golf, skiing, USC football and physical fitness. He married his high school sweetheart and they have two children. Dr. Barke enjoys coaching his son's baseball team and playing tennis with his daughter. Dr. Barke is also very passionate about giving back to the community. He is the medical director of Pathways to Independence, a non-profit organization helping women at risk, and through Personalcare Physicians, provides free care to those in need. In addition, Dr. Barke was elected to the Board of Education of the Los Alamitos Unified School District in 2006.

Car dealers press Biden to ease U.S. electric vehicle mandates. A group of US auto dealers is calling on the Biden administration to pull back on federal regulations that will mandate that two out of every three vehicles sold in the US in 2032 will be battery electric.Calling themselves EV Voice of the Customer, a group of almost 3,900 dealerships signed a letter to President Joe Biden released Tuesday that said most US car buyers are not now interested in buying battery electric vehicles — even with government incentives — and the US should not force them to do so.
The House of Representatives voted to expel scandal-plagued Rep. George Santos, R-N.Y., on Friday, making him the first House lawmaker to be expelled in more than 20 years.
Expelling a member of Congress takes a two-thirds majority vote. The last time a House lawmaker was expelled was more than two decades ago, when late former Rep. Jim Traficant, D-Ohio, was voted out of Congress in 2002.
Prior to his ousting, Traficant had been convicted of 10 felony counts, including racketeering and taking bribes
