Good morning, America. It is Wednesday, June 10th, and if you want to understand why people no longer trust the institutions running this country, just look at the stories we are covering today.
We’ll start in California, where election chaos is once again front and center. The Los Angeles mayoral race has seen ballot updates shift the order days after Election Night, with Nithya Raman moving ahead of Spencer Pratt for second place in the race to face Mayor Karen Bass. At the same time, federal scrutiny is now underway, with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles and the FBI looking at election-related concerns. Joe will ask the obvious question: how long are Americans supposed to accept election systems where the results keep changing after Election Day and the answer from officials is always, “just trust us”?
Then we’ll stay in California for the governor’s race, where Republican Steve Hilton has advanced against Democrat Xavier Becerra. This race is bigger than one state. California has become the national laboratory for progressive one-party rule: homelessness, unaffordable housing, crime, regulation, high taxes, and collapsing public trust. Joe will break down why this election may become a referendum on Gavin Newsom’s California — and why Democrats should be nervous if Republicans are even competitive in the Golden State.
We’ll also head to Maine, where Graham Platner has won the Democratic Senate nomination despite controversies that would have ended a Republican candidate’s career in about five minutes. Democrats lecture America constantly about character, decency, extremism, and “threats to democracy” — until they need a Senate seat. Then suddenly the standards get very flexible. Joe will lay out the hypocrisy and what this race means for control of the United States Senate.
Closer to home, we’ll talk about Massachusetts public-benefit fraud, where the Auditor’s Bureau of Special Investigations identified nearly $12 million in fraud in FY2025 involving programs including SNAP and MassHealth. Joe’s question is simple: before politicians lecture working families about paying their “fair share,” why don’t they prove they can protect the money they already take from taxpayers? Compassion means helping the truly needy — not allowing fraudsters to loot the system.
We’ll cover the national pressure points hitting American families right now: border enforcement, inflation, energy prices, and Iran. The House has passed a major immigration enforcement package to fund ICE and Border Patrol, inflation is back in the spotlight, and tensions with Iran continue to test American resolve. Weakness is expensive. Open borders are expensive. Energy dependence is expensive. Joe will connect the dots.
We’ll also discuss the painful local story of Anna Maria College in Paxton, where faculty were first told to clear out offices quickly and lose email access after the college announced it would close following 80 years of service. Then we’ll turn to the horrifying reminder of what ISIS barbarism really is — and why the West must never forget what radical Islamic terrorism has done to Yazidis, Christians, women, children, and anyone who refused to submit. Joe will separate faith from violent ideology, but he will not pretend ISIS fighters are misunderstood victims. The question for the West is whether we still have the moral courage to defend civilization, enforce our laws, protect our borders, and refuse to import people who joined genocidal terror movements.
We’ll also cover the major detransitioner malpractice verdict, where Fox Varian, who underwent a double mastectomy at age 16 and later detransitioned, was awarded $2 million by a New York jury. This story may be a warning flare for the entire medical establishment. Were children rushed? Were parents silenced? Was real informed consent possible? Joe will ask whether the adults are finally coming back into the room.
And finally, Joe will tackle the foreign policy question: Is Europe right that Russia will not stop at Ukraine?
